Tulsa Volleyball Heads South for Conference Clashes

TULSA, 
Okla. — The University of Tulsa volleyball squad (13-6, 5-2) travels to Texas this weekend to square off with two conference foes, Houston on Friday, Oct. 19 and SMU on Sunday, Oct. 21.
 
The first test of the weekend comes against Houston (13-9, 0-7), who has yet to win a conference match this season. Tulsa owns a lofty 18-7 record all-time against the Cougars.
 
TU's second match on the road pits it against SMU (6-11, 3-4), who currently sits at ninth in the conference. Head coach Ryan Wills' bunch owns a 19-25 record all-time versus the Mustangs, but swept them in the team's last match of 2017.
 
The Golden Hurricane holds steady at third overall in the American with its 5-2 conference record, trailing only UCF and Cincinnati, who both sit at a perfect 7-0 in the AAC.
 
The Tulsa squad is nearly flawless at home this season, recording an impressive 8-1 mark in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The record includes a perfect 3-0 showing at the Tulsa Volleyball Invitational, four AAC victories and a non-conference win over North Texas.
