Tulsa Volleyball Set for Key Conference Road Matches

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa volleyball team continues conference action this weekend, as it is scheduled to square off with East Carolina (12-10, 4-7) on Friday, November 2, and at Cincinnati (19-6, 9-2) on Sunday, November 4.
 
The Golden Hurricane's first match of the weekend pits it against East Carolina at 6 p.m. CT in Greenville, North Carolina. The Pirates rank ninth in the American, while Tulsa owns a 18-2 record all-time against ECU, including a 3-1 win in Tulsa this season.
 
On Sunday, TU travels to Cincinnati, Ohio, to square off with the Bearcats at 12 p.m. CT. Cincinnati ranks just ahead of Tulsa in the AAC standings at second overall. The Hurricane possesses a 3-7 all-time record against the Bearcats, including a 3-1 Cincinnati win in 2018.
 
As a team, the Golden Hurricane sits third in the conference with an 8-3 record in American matches. TU is coming off a weekend sweep at home over Temple and UConn, in which the Hurricane improved to 10-1 inside the Reynolds Center this season.
 
The Tulsa defense remains one of the strongest in the nation, as the team ranks No. 16 in the NCAA with 17.74 digs per set. Junior DS/L Taylor Horsfall is second in the conference with 5.63 digs per set, while senior OH Emily Thorson is slotted sixth in the American at 3.31 kills per set.
