Track and Field Kicks Off Indoor Season in Sunflower State

Meet Tentative Schedule

TULSA, 
Okla. — The University of Tulsa track and field squad opens its 2018-19 indoor season on Saturday, Dec. 8, as it travels to Pittsburg, Kansas, for the Crimson & Gold Invitational.
 
The Golden Hurricane will travel 30 athletes (18 men and 12 women) to participate in the meet, which is a one-day meet, hosted by Pittsburg State University. Participating schools will open Saturday on the track with the women's 5,000 meters at 11:30 a.m. CT.
 
Field events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT with the men's and women's weight throw. As customary, the women's and men's 4x400-meter relay will round out competition, set to run at 7:45 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. CT, respectively.
 
TU last competed at the Crimson & Gold Invitational in 2016, in which the teams earned 14 top-five finishes on the day. Grey Howard and Aleks Rapp both recorded program records in the 600-yard run (1:12.10) and weight throw (64-7.75), respectively, in the meet.
