THE GAME
• This is the 61st meeting between Tulsa and Arkansas.
• The game is the first road game in the month of December for the Hurricane.
• The Razorbacks are 8-1 on the season … Arkansas comes into Saturday's match-up off of their first loss of the season ... the Razorbacks fell 86-79 to Western Kentucky ... they have key wins over Georgia Tech, Rice and North Texas.
THE SERIES
• Arkansas has a 36-24 series lead ... the Hurricane is 8-24 on the road against the Razorbacks and 15-9 at home.
• The last meeting between the two teams came in 2006-07 season as the Hurricane lost to the Razorbacks 68-59 at Bud Walton Arena.
• The first game between the two teams came in the 1931-32 season as Tulsa lost to Arkansas on the road with a final of 33-28.
• Tulsa's last win at Arkansas was in Nov. 2002, 61-60 ... this is the third time back to Fayetteville since then.
LAST MEETING AGAINST ARKANSAS
•In the non-conference road game for the Hurricane on Jan. 2, 2007, Tulsa fell 59-68.
• Tulsa was led by Mark Hill who scored 17 points ... Ben Uzoh added 12 and Jamel McLean put in 11 for the Hurricane.
• Tulsa closed within 2 points with less than 10 minutes left ... the Razorbacks used an 8-0 run to seal the deal and defeat the 9-3 Hurricane.
• The Razorbacks were led by Gary Ervin and Sonny Weems who each had 14 points ... Arkansas also received contributions from Charles Thomas (13) and Patrick Beverley (11).
LAST WIN AGAINST THE RAZORBACKS
• The 20th ranked Hurricane defeated the Razorbacks 61-60 on the road on Nov. 30, 2002.
• Tulsa was led by Antonio Reed who scored 17 points ... Dante Swanson scored 16 and Kevin Johnson put in 13 points and 8 rebounds for the Hurricane.
• Tulsa took a 35-31 lead into halftime ... they would lead the rest of the game .. the largest lead of the game came at the 11:09 mark of the second half when Tulsa took a 52-43 advantage.
• The Razorbacks were led by Eric Ferguson who had 14 points and a half court heave at the buzzer... Dionisio Gomez added a double-double for Arkansas with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
THE LAST ROAD GAME
• Tulsa won their first road game of the season against Vanderbilt at Memorial Gym in their second road game of the season.
• JC Transfer Brandon Rachal led the Hurricane with 17 points in 25 minutes of action.
•Tulsa ended with 2 players with double digit scoring ... Rachal (17) and Elijah Joiner (12).
• In the second half Tulsa outscored the Commodores 33-28 ... down the stretch, Joiner went on a 7-0 run by himself to stretch the Hurricane lead to double-digits.
• Tulsa shot the ball well from the free throw line the entire night going 16-20 (80.0) ... Joiner (6-7), Rachal
(6-6) and Igbanu (3-4) leading the Hurricane.
• The Hurricane forced 16 turnovers scoring 22 points off of them.
SCOUTING THE RAZORBACKS
• Arkansas was picked to finish 11th in The Southeastern Conference.
• This is their first season led by head coach Eric Musselman.
• Arkansas finished last season going 18-16 overall and 8-10 in SEC play losing in the second round of the NIT to Indiana, 63-60.
• The Razorbacks come into Saturday's matchup following a 86-79 overtime loss at Western Kentucky.. the loss was the first loss this season for Arkansas.
• Second Team Preseason All-Conference selection Isaiah Joe averages 16.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists ... Mason Jones, who was selected Week 1 SEC Player of the Week leads the Razorbacks in scoring with 16.9 ppg.
• The Razorbacks are averaging 72.9 ppg for the season ,while their opponents average 56.3 points per game.
