Tulsa Men’s Tennis Falls at Arkansas on Sunday, 5-2

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis squad (8-2) fell in the team's first road match at Arkansas (6-2), 5-2, on Sunday inside on the courts of the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the Razorbacks managed to strike first with a 6-1 win over Tulsa's Joshua Goodger and Boriss Kamdem. To clinch the point, Arkansas' Adam Sanjurjo and Oscar Mesquida topped the TU tandem of Majed Kilani and Jarod Hing, 6-4.
Golden Hurricane freshmen Kody Pearson and Daniel Siddall were leading in their No. 3 doubles match over Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Reco, 6-5, before the decision on court one.
The Razorbacks moved ahead 2-0 early on in singles, as Enrique Paya nabbed a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Kamdem. Arkansas pushed onward to a 3-0 lead after Hing fell in a tight match to Reco, 6-2, 7-6(1).
To secure the final point, the Razorbacks' Mesquida picked a 7-6(3), 6-2 win over Kilani at the No. 1 position.
The Golden Hurricane got on the board by way of a Goodger three-set thriller, tallying a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Sanjurjo to bring the score back to 4-1. Germany native Stefan Hampe dropped his No. 6 singles match in straight sets, followed by a Pearson win, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to round out Sunday's matches.
Head coach Vince Westbrook's bunch will return to Tulsa for two high-profile matches next weekend, scheduled to host No. 8 Texas on Friday and Cornell on Sunday inside the Case Tennis Center.
