FAYETTEVILLE,
Ark. — The University of Tulsa track and field squad wrapped up its regular season on Friday, sending one to the prestigious Payton Jordan Invitational and a contingency to the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville.

Ben Preisner was the Golden Hurricane's lone representative at the prestigious meet in California. In a race with former TU All-Americans Luke Traynor and Marc Scott, Preisner ran the eighth-fastest 10,000 meters in school history in 29:13.38.

Freshman Rory Mitchell kicked off Tulsa's appearance in Fayetteville in the first TU event of the meet. Mitchell ran a 100 meters personal-best time of 11.70 (+1.1) for his best mark in a Golden Hurricane uniform.

To follow in the women's 100 meters, TU put two inside the top-five in the race. Carsyn Spurgeon took home silver in 11.90 (+0.9), while freshman Jaidyn McCallon ran a PR of 12.21 (+0.9) for fifth overall.

Senior Bailey Stewart notched a season-best 46.95 in a heated 400-meter race, missing out on his career-best mark by .03 seconds. Stewart's run earned him bronze in the race, in addition to the No. 3 mark in school history.

Tulsa also saw a solid race in the form of the men's 400-meter hurdles. The Golden Hurricane went 1-2-3, as Henry Visser (52.72), Emmanuel Okwuone (53.29) and Hans Kunsch (53.99) took home top three.

Tulsa will return home in preparation for the postseason next week, as the American Outdoor Championships are scheduled for May 10-12 in Wichita, Kansas.
