Tulsa Suffers First Loss of Season at #6 Ohio State, 4-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Tulsa men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, as the No. 3-seeded Golden Hurricane (5-1) fell to top-seeded and sixth-ranked Ohio State, 4-0, in the Columbus regional championship match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The two-day tournament was hosted by the Buckeyes (6-0) at the OSU Varsity Tennis Center.
Ohio State captured the doubles point, as the Hurricane suffered losses at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, respectively. Tulsa fell behind 2-0, as Jarod Hing dropped a match at No. 2 singles to No. 16 Cannon Kingsley, 6-0, 6-3. Juan Pablo Cenoz then fell to No. 28 Kyle Seelig at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. In the top spot, No. 98 Kody Pearson suffered a 6-2, 6-1 loss to No. 24 John McNally.
The Golden Hurricane return to action on Friday, as they host ninth-ranked Texas A&M (1-0) at 6 pm. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of TU.
