FORT WORTH, Texas –
The Tulsa men's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak end on Friday night to eighth-ranked TCU, 7-0, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU. The Golden Hurricane stand at 10-6 overall, while the Horned Frogs improve to 10-4 on the season. Friday's match served as the 23rd meeting between the two schools since 2000, with TCU now holding a 12-11 advantage over the Hurricane during that span.

TCU took the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead. Jarod Hing and Tom Thelwall-Jones suffered a 6-0 loss at No. 2 doubles to Luc Fomba and Bertus Kruger. The second loss came in the top spot, as No. 61 Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson recorded their first loss of the season against No. 55 Sander Jong and Tadeas Paroulek, 6-2.

Entering the match, the Australian tandem was undefeated with a 7-0 overall record, including a 6-0 mark at No. 1 doubles and a 1-0 record in the No. 2 slot. Di Marco also started his career at TU undefeated in doubles. In addition to the 7-0 record alongside Pearson, the freshman went 2-0 with Juan Pablo Cenoz at No. 2 doubles and 1-0 in the No. 3 position with Stefan Hampe.

The Horned Frogs extended their lead to 2-0, as Ezequiel Santalla dropped a straight-sets decision to No. 119-ranked Jacob Fearnley, 6-1, 6-1. Di Marco suffered a 6-3, 6-2 loss to Jong, while Cenoz fell to Kruger in the No. 6 spot, 6-2, 6-3. TCU secured a 5-0 advantage following Hampe's 6-3, 6-4 loss to No. 77-ranked Fomba at No. 2 singles.

No. 61-ranked Pearson dominated his second set vs. No. 30-ranked Alastair Gray, forcing a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles. However, the Hurricane would fall just shy of the upset, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0(6).

Hing pushed No. 105-ranked Paroulek to the edge at No. 3 singles, but was unable to get the upper hand in a 7-5, 7-5 loss.

Tulsa returns to action on Sunday morning, as the Hurricane head to Austin, Texas, for an 11 a.m. match against third-ranked Texas.
