TULSA, Okla. –– Coming off its first setback of the season, the University of Tulsa men's basketball team will head to the Mabee Center to face Oral Roberts in the annual Mayor's Cup on Saturday evening.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air on the Summit League Network and KGEB Channel 53. Adam Hildebrandt and Dan Hawk will bring fans the action. Tulsa fans can also catch the game on Big Country 99.5 FM and the Varsity Network app. Bruce Howard and JR Rollo have the call tomorrow.

Tulsa will look to snap a two-game skid against the Golden Eagles and end ORU's 18 home game winning streak. Saturday marks the 58th meeting between the schools with Tulsa owning a 36-21 advantage in the series. In the Mabee Center, Tulsa boasts a 17-13 record.

The Golden Hurricane is 4-1 on the season after picking up its first loss, an 84-82 overtime decision at Little Rock on Saturday. Freshman Tyshawn Archie had team-high 17 points in the loss. Matt Reed got his first double-digit scoring performance with 10, and Cobe Williams added 16.

Guard PJ Haggerty made it back-to-back weeks as the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week. In two games last week, Haggerty averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Against South Carolina State, the freshman scored 28 points and knocked down a Reynolds Center-record 19 free throws.

He leads four TU players who average double figures in scoring with 16.6 points per game. Cobe Williams (15.0), Jared Garcia (10.6) and Isaiah Barnes (10.2) are the other three. On the glass, Garcia is the team leader, pulling down 7.6 per night. Matt Reed, Haggerty, Barnes and Carlous Williams all average five or more rebounds as well.

ORU welcomes Tulsa with a 2-4 record through its first six games with all four losses coming on the road. However, the Golden Eagles have not made it easy for opponents. On the road against No. 13 Texas A&M, ORU gave the Aggies all they could handle before eventually falling 74-66. In its loss on Tuesday, the Golden Eagles took on Kansas State in Manhatten, Kan. ORU hung around and sent the game to overtime with a massive dunk just before the horn. The Wildcats were able to escape with a big overtime period in the 88-78 finish.

The Golden Eagles had a big ask this season, replacing one of the nation's top players in Max Abmas, who is now at Texas. Issac McBride has answered the call so far, averaging 22.2 points per game through the opening six games. McBride has scored 20 or more in each of the past four games, including 27 points against A&M and Missouri State, and 25 in the overtime game at Kansas State.

Following Saturday's game, Tulsa returns to the Reynolds Center to host Loyola Chicago on Tuesday evening. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN+.
