TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team heads to face its most-played rival in Wichita State for the 31st and final regular season game of the 2024-25 campaign on Sunday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena.     
 
Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPN+ with Mark Ewing and Bob Hull on the call. Fans can also catch the contest on Big Country 99.5 FM and the Varsity Network app. Bruce Howard and JR Rollo will bring fans the action.
 
Tulsa (11-19, 5-12 The American) and Wichita State (18-12, 8-9 The American) meet for the 144th time when then teams take to the court tomorrow in a series that started back in 1930. The Shockers lead 78-65, including a 44-23 record at home against the Hurricane. Tulsa has dropped 12 straight in the Charles Koch, not winning since 2001 on the road.  
 
TU is looking to bounce back from four straight losses, including back-to-back close calls in the Donald W. Reynolds Center, falling 79-77 to Tulane and then 81-77 to Temple on Senior Night. In each of those games, Tulsa had the ball in the final minute with a chance to either tie or take the lead.
 
Entering the finale, Tulsa is in 10th in the conference. The Hurricane cannot move up, but also can fall no further than 11th, swapping places with UTSA. Keaston Willis has knocked down 87 3-pointers this season, leaving his six short of tying Gary Collier (1993-94) for the Tulsa single season record. Dwon Odom is also moving up the assist list with 160 this season, the seventh-best single season total at Tulsa.
 
Since their loss to Tulsa, Wichita State has gone on a roll, winning seven of the ensuing 10 games, including a stretch of six straight wins that included a victory over the conference champion Memphis Tigers.
 
Xavier Bell is leading the Shockers in scoring, averaging 15.3 points while shooting 42.1 percent from the floor and 35.2 percent on 3-pointers, knocking down a team-best 31 from deep. He is shooting 88.4 percent from the line, the 29th-best percentage in the NCAA.
 
Corey Washington (13.4), Justin Hill (11.6) and Quincy Ballard (10.2) are the other three to average scoring in double figures. Ballard and Washington are also the top two rebounders on the squad at 8.8 and 7.6 rebounds per game, respectively.
 
Following Sunday's game, the Golden Hurricane will set its eyes on Fort Worth and the 2025 American Athletic Basketball Championship. The tournament will run from March 12th through the 16th will all games except for the opening game played at Dickies Arena.
