Tulsa opened the first half with a strong start, establishing an early lead through efficient shooting and solid defense. Tyler Behrend contributed significantly with key layups, while Barnstable and Lawal both added three-pointers, helping Tulsa maintain momentum. The Golden Hurricane's defensive efforts, including a block by Green, limited the Shockers' scoring opportunities.

Despite several lead changes and ties, the Golden Hurricane maintained a slight edge throughout the half, showcasing effective fast breaks and bench contributions. By the end of the half, they led 41–35, concluding with a confident grip on the game.

Tulsa began the second half with a narrow advantage, quickly extending its lead to nine with a jumper from Riley and a free throw from Green. Wichita State responded by closing the gap, keeping the contest tightly contested. Tulsa maintained its edge through strategic free throws and a key three-pointer from Romad Dean, pushing the score to 53–47.

Midway through the half, Tulsa capitalized on offensive rebounds and three-point shooting, including a notable three from Barnstable. Despite the Shockers' persistent efforts to narrow the deficit, the Golden Hurricane held a slight advantage until the closing minutes. The half concluded with Wichita State edging ahead, 81–77, as Tulsa went just 1-for-8 down the stretch.

The Golden Hurricane are back home on Wednesday as they go for the season sweep of Charlotte at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Center.
