Scott Beattie wins 5,000-meter run as Tulsa Records Successful Wooo Pig Classic

FAYETTVILLE, Ark. Scott Beattie won the 5,000-meter run, Keely Jones took third in the mile run and Evan Sanni-Thomas took second in the 300-meter dash highlighted Tulsa's indoor season opening meet at the Wooo Pig Classic Friday.
 
WOMEN
On the women's side, Tulsa tallied nine top-10 finishes, as well as a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.
 
Jones had the best finish of the day for the women, running the mile in 4:58.40, and was just ahead of teammate Chloe McEachern who finished in fourth. Sara Scott finished in sixth at 5:12.48 in her indoor debut.
 
In the 60-meter dash, Cara Johnson posted a 7.76 time and a 12th place finish, while Hannah Booe's 8.06 time put her in 27th. Jaidah McCallon posted a 39.62 time in the 300-meter dash, putting her in tenth of that event and finished seventh in the 1,000-meter run.
 
MEN
Beattie, fresh off being named the American Athletic Conference runner of the year for cross country, posted a 5,000-meter time of 13:40.42, almost a full three seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
 
Josh Sutton posted a top-five finish in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at 6.81, while Sanni-Thomas finished in second of the 300-meter dash at 33.40 in his first indoor action.
 
In his first indoor action at Tulsa, Ben Black finished in fifth of the 3,000-meter run at 8:51.40. Tulsa also had a third-place finish in the 4x400, as Henry Visser, Kyran Lacy, Cameron Conyers and Sanni-Thomas recorded a 3:16.53.
